Atal Pension Yojana – APY scheme is a pension scheme under the Jan Dhan Se Suraksha Scheme administered by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) through NPS architecture. A pension scheme focused on the unorganized sector of India. APY can be joined by any individuals who have a bank account and are not taxpayers. APY scheme was launched along with PMJJBY and PMSBY Schemes.
Depending on your contributions, a guaranteed minimum pension of ₹1000, ₹2000, ₹3000, ₹4000 or ₹5000 every month after 60 years of Age.
Period of Investment
The minimum age of joining is 18 years and the maximum age is 40 years. Hence, the minimum period of contribution would be 20 years or more.

What are Atal Pension Yojana Benefits?
The minimum Guaranteed pension under the scheme is ₹1000, ₹2000, ₹3000, ₹4000 or ₹5000 every month after 60 years of Age.
On attaining the age of 60 years:
The exit from APY is permitted at the age with 100% annuitisation of pension wealth. On exit, a pension would be available to the subscriber.
In case of death of the Subscriber due to any cause:
In case of death of subscriber pension would be available to the spouse and on the death of both of them (subscriber and spouse), the pension corpus would be returned to his nominee.
Exit Before the age of 60 Years:
Exit before 60 years of age is not permitted however it is permitted only in exceptional circumstances, i.e., in the event of the death of beneficiary or terminal disease.
