Chandigarh, December 24, 2024: The Haryana Government’s Human Resources Department has issued a new notification modifying the previous government order regarding public holidays.
As per the latest Notification No. 28/12/2024-1HR-I, the Gazetted Holiday of “Christmas,” previously mentioned under Schedule-I, will now also be observed as a public holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.
This update supersedes the earlier notification issued via No. 28/67/2008-1HR-I dated 22.12.2023. The announcement ensures that all government offices, institutions, and financial organizations under the purview of the Act will remain closed on December 25th for the celebration of Christmas.
The notification, signed by Vivek Joshi, Chief Secretary to the Government of Haryana, emphasizes the state’s commitment to recognizing and respecting the diverse cultural and religious traditions of its people.
